One thing you may be able to clarify for me Luisa....
I have a list of children for your g-grandma Louisa. Were Margaret and Patrick twins? They both have the same birth reference so I presumed that to be the case...

Hi Luisa.
Wow..13 children! Ouch  ;D
I think I must be missing one then as I only have 12 children for them...must look into that!
Sadly I don't have any certs for Lementina. I really ought to order some but if I ordered every cert I wanted I'd be penniless Lol! Obviously there'd be no cert for her birth, but I do have the reference numbers for her marriage and death.
I think it's nice that although she died and was registered in Essex, she was still buried back in her hometown.
Nice to hear some background details for Frederick too  :)

Hi Pauline
Just had a look at my tree and I don't have a daughter named Phoebe for Lementina & Jonathan...they had many children who sadly died, and as far as I know the only ones who survived to adulthood were my ancestor Alfred, Jane and Emily. That's not to say it isn't the same Lementina...surely it wasn't a common name! 🤣

Hi Luisa
Lementina is also my 3x great-grandma, via her son Alfred.
You're descended through Emily (married Heathcote) then? That's who Lementina was living with when she died isn't it?

Hiya Annemaj

It's been a very long time since I did anything on my tree but I've looked through my old emails and have managed to find an attachment containing the transcribed letter...I'm not sure how I can send it to you though unless I have your private email address

Don't know if anyone is still working on this...ANDREA (SacredG) in particular...
To be honest I had lost the link to this website and thread....I only just found it again.
I've recently started looking into the Biltons again for my father-in-law and have found a wealth of information...and even one of his relatives on Facebook!!! Please, please get in touch!!

so we could still be talking about the same family - she just has a date wrong??
I hope so...you've done so much work for me and I'm beginning to build up a picture of Gertrude's family....be a shame for it to be wrong :(
I've left a message on the link you mentioned about the Seaman's orphanage to see if I can get contact details for the man who seems to know all about it...hopefully I'll get a reply and can ask him what info he has for 'Gerty'

too right it would - thanks again.

Been looking at a Bilton tree on Google - I may have looked at it before as it seems to ring a bell with me.
It has un-nerved me because it shows Samuel J Tennant married to Gertrude M Bilton - but has her born c1912 in Nottingham!!!!! Can't get any more info from it - it's just somebody's tree, but surely they'd have got confirmation via certs and stuff before posting it on the web???
