Surrey / Cheesemans of Flexford, Wanborough
« on: Saturday 17 December 11 13:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi. I'm trying to track down some relatives who at one time lived in Flexford near Wanborough. Nathan Cheeseman who was born in Pirbright moved there with his family and ended his days living with his eldest son George who was born in 1856 (in Ash). George's son, also George, was born in Flexford in 1896. If anyone has any info relating to these Cheesemans or their relatives in Flexford or Wanborough I would love to hear from them.

Thanks,

Adam

This the church where most of my Cheeseman family were connected with.
St. Michael the Archangel, Warfield, Berkshire.

Thanks for this.  I'm not getting notifications either!  :'(

I suspect my Cheesemans are Berkshire based back as far as the mid eighteenth century, but I can't help wondering if they came from Kent prior to that.  I haven't had any luck in the Berkshire Record Office.  It's hard to prove migrations!

All best, Emma

Hi Emma,

The majority of my Cheeseman family are from Surrey, having originated (it seems) in Frimley before moving to the Chobham Bisley Woking area. One branch did move to the Easthampstead area of Berkshire around the 1800s though and I would be interested in hearing from you or anyone else if there is any connection with these Cheesemans.

Despite extensicve searching I have not found any connection between the Cheesemans of Surrey and Kent.  In fact there are Cheesemans in the Egham and Dorking areas of Surrey who so far appear to be not connected in any way as well.

All the best,

Adam
