Hello Sovvolf and welcome to Rootschat.

UncleQuentin hasn't been online since Sept last year, hopefully he hasn't changed his email address and he will be notified of your message.

Rootschat has a policy of not allowing any mention of living people,so if any of those you've named are still alive please remove their names  ;)

Once you have posted 3 messages you will be able to use the PM (Personal Message) system. So fingers crossed that he replies soon.

Carol

I sincerely apologise, I didn't intend on breaking any rules. I guess I should have read the rules before posting though this was only intended as a one off post in order to inform Quentin  that there is indeed still Gomersalls in Barnsley.

My grandfather is at this moment still alive so I have edited my post to remove his name in compliance of the rules of this forum. I do hope that Quentin reads this and that this does help.

Again I apologise for breaking any of your rules and I will go out of my way to avoid doing so in the future. Thank you for the information.

First I'll apologise for brining an what I would assume is an old thread back from the dead after all this time (2007 I think was the last this thread was used) I was wondering around the internet on this just caught my eye.

Also I don't know if your already aware of this information.

Okay here goes. I'm a Gomersall sort of. I'm actually a Skelly from my fathers side but on my mums side I'm a Gomersall. My Grandad is a Gomersall and he's from Barnsley. He has three daughters and one son. On of the daughters is my mother **. The son is my uncle living in Australia. I imagine this information is too late and I also imagine that judging from the lack of activity in this thread you lost interest in this three years ago.  However I thought this information would help if you ever do come across it again.

You wanted to know if there are still Gomersalls in Barnsley... Well the answer is yes. Are we part of the same family?... I don't know. None the less I hope this information helps.

Moderator's Comment: Names of living people aren't allowed to be posted on Rootschat so some details have been removed from this post. If anyone can fill in more recent family details it would be best done by PM (personal message) rather than online.
