Cavan / Re: Holywell

Many thanks.  It has.  I think that there is enough information with this and the details on the records is enough to answer the County Cavan question.  She always said she was from County Cavan - and the records seem to support this.  There is also suggestions from the records that she / the family moved from Holywell south, into CC proper.  I am not sure whether she moved with them as I can not track her for the 1901 census.  1911 has her in Cardiff and says she has been 'married' for 14 years (not that I can find a marriage record).  Which woul dmean she should be in Cardiff in 1901 - but nothing.  I have her 'husband' in 11901 - but no trace of her.  All your support and answers on here have given me more detail in regard to her Irish roots - so thank you

Thank you both - school girl error - misread the entry!

That looks like the right record, thank you !  Looking at this it bounces me back to first post - it says Holywell, Fermanagh & Cavan.  I have to admit to not knowing geography of Ireland well and certainly not pre split.  BUt I do know that these counties are next to each other.  So from a research point of view would births from both have Enniskillen as the SRD?  Many thanks Sian

Her name is Bridget Cassidy.  I have her DoB as 5th Feb 1874 - This is from the 1939 register.  The only tie I can find is a Bridget Cassidy born Holywell.  BUt as I said she always told family here she was from County Cavan.  If this is the right record I can find records of siblings being born in County Cavan.  So I am thinking that the family moved slightly south around 1877/78.

I am not sure what you are referring to when you ask for the SRD?  Will happily supply if I have it -once I know what it is!  Many thanks Sian

Cavan / Holywell

Hi.   I am doing research into a relative.  Family history says she always said she was born in County Cavan.  The only recod I can find which fits suggests she may have been born in Holywell.  I can see it is now on the border - has it ever been in County Cavan.  Her birth date was 1874.
Many thanks

Thanks Carole

I had found the death and the sad death of the twins.  I have traced his daughters marriage and her sons.  Think they moved to Manchester area, trying to figure out if I can trace her at all.  I can't find a death record for her or her husband, so thinking they may still be alive.

Thanks for the info
Sian
