Travelling People / Re: Ball family (a branch married into Penfolds) SHOWMEN
« on: Saturday 20 January 18 18:46 GMT (UK)  »
Hello. My late father in law was Apsey Ball. 15/06/1916. Isle of Wight
He always said he had traveller blood in his family and they came from Yorkshire.  Can anyone let me know if he was correct.
I do know for sure Penfold was a relative of his as a family member came to the Isle of Wight  in around 1980

The Common Room / Dooley
« on: Tuesday 03 August 10 20:39 BST (UK)  »
Hello all,
I am just starting on my "Dooley" quest, having successfully found my "Bartlett" family on the Isle of Wight.
All I know is that: James Dooley b 1841 in Ireland = Mary.
                            Arthur b 1863 in Ireland
Patrick b 1865 Cleator Moor Cumberland
                            Elizabeth b 1867 Cleator Moor
                            Thomas b 1873 Cleator Moor
                            Joseph b 1875 Cleator Moor
                            Peter b 1877 Cleator Moor
                            Sarah J b 1879 Cleator Moor
They all moved to Cleator Moor, Cumberland, England in about 1865 where James was an iron ore miner.
What I'd like to Know is, has anybody got James and Mary in their tree and where in Ireland did they come from ?
Any help greatfully received.
