My great grandfather was born 1860 he was John Barratt, Married to Hannah Sargent born 1861 Staffordshire. We may have a connection but I haven't managed to get as far back as you.

John Barratt lived at 165 Anchor Square, Ettingshall, Staff 1891 census

Labourer at Furnaces. Wifes name Hannah nee sargent, they had two sons at that time . John William and Elliotte.. as spelt on the census, changed later to Ellis.

John William Died 1892 body found in Birmingham canal Coseley  local papers called it a mysterious death, Inquest held in  The Anchor Inn open Verdict,   younger brother Ernest (died aged 5)a few years earlier both  buried Dark-house Chapel, Deepfields, Family then moved to Chesterfield Derbyshire with 4 Children  Ellis may Willie and John , Willie my grandfather died 1983.

Any information regarding inquest or family appreciated.

Does anyone have any information regarding Beehive Yard Chesterfield or
John/Hannah Barratt. John my great grandfather was born in kettley shropshire abt 1859 then moved to ettingshall staffordshire abt 1890 2 children 1891 census john w and elliotte , john w died january 1892 found dead in canal open verdict buried with his brother ernest who died aged 5yrs crushed by falling timbers when his   father was unloading a canal barge 6th august 1889 both children buried darkhouse chapel deepfields they must then have moved to derbyshire ,  21 beehive yard  chesterfield John Barratt died there in 1915 . 1901 census 4 children listed ellis assume this was elliotte in 1891 census with may  aged 10 my grandfather willie aged 8 and john aged 6yrs i remember aunt may and my grandfather but never met ellis or john any information about them or their families.

Believe john Barratt may have been  relative of mine tracing family history, John came from whitstone according to my findings did various jobs from working in the quarries to running a public house called the plough, sorry no photographs or any more information yet if i come across any i will send it.
