Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I had looked at Catherine's death certificate. Her parents are listed as John and Mary Green but no other information. I'll keep looking for a location in Ireland but thanks again.

Fife / James Maguire - died Lathalmond Dunfermline
« on: Monday 22 September 25 20:19 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to locate any information on where in Ireland James Maguire came from. I've looked at his marriage record and census but they all just list Ireland. He died (aged 43 years) on March 15th 1874 in Lathalmond, Dunfermline and I was wondering if there was a death notice in the newspaper would that have more information. Would anyone be able to look that up for me please?

To finish the story - I found James Wallace listed under the non-fatal accidents in the annual report of the state inspector of coal mines in 1888. His brother did die in the explosion but James returned to Scotland with his family and died in 1914.

Find My Past only has information on his death - 26th April 1942, Public Hospital Kingston. Cause of death was Pyouephrosis. Death wasn't registered until May 11th. He is, however, listed in a number of other trees. Contacting the owners may give you more information.

Thank you for your help. I've had a look at the death certificate and it is the correct person which is strange as all the newspaper reports had him at death's door from his injuries. I will keep digging.

Henry Wallace (b1850, Kettle, Fife, Scotland) was killed in an explosion at the Canfield Coal Mine in 1888. Newspaper articles on the incident mention his brother, James Wallace (b1843, Scotland) as being badly injured and not expected to survive. I can't find any information on what happened to James and was hoping that someone might be able to help. Many thanks.

Canada Lookup Request / Re: John F Sinclair
« on: Monday 05 May 25 11:06 BST (UK)  »
Appreciate you trying. It would make searching so much easier if the middle name was used. I did come across a marriage of a John Sinclair and Margaret Trindle in 1939 but wasn't sure if it was the correct person.
