Hi Sharon
You are a gem ! :) Thank you so much. Am I right in assuming that the source is the St Mary Magdalene
church records? I was told there was a Susan, but could never find this either. can you tell me how I go about
getting a copy of these records?
Thanks once again

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Cooper's in Woolwich "completed"
« on: Sunday 18 March 12 07:46 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone do a look up for me.
My GG grandfather was William Cooper , I believe he was born in Woolwich. I can't find it.
His parents were Charles Cooper & Mary Haines/Haynes who were m. 3 Aug 1806 Plumstead, Kent (off IGI)
Can only find one child or guess it is a sister(on Fam.Search)  only 80% match
Elizabeth COOPER b.6Nov1814 Ch.15Jan1815 St Mary Magdalene, Woolwich d.9 Mar 1817
William's convict record says he was born 3 May 1812. Marriage cert. calculates to 1814, but he lied often. :-X
William was tried in Gloucester on 7 Apr 1830 and sent to VDL for life.
Confirmation about his birth/bap would be wonderful,  as people keep putting unconfirmed info on the web. >:(

Thanks for your time

Hi Sharon
I do not have any information on your line that would help at this stage.
Will pass your information over to my friend ( who is overseas at moment)
Wonder if you have looked in Australia or America as Aust is where John J KINRADE's family ended up as well as cousin William (your line). I also noticed while researching that some KINRADE's travelled to America (found on the Isle of Man Family History webpages.)

Thanks Evie
Have looked at the www.lawson site in the past, but nothing concrete. Yes Ann Hampton (nee Kinrade) probably was married to William HAMPTON as 3 young children on the 1881 census list a William Hampton age 5years.  But like you had problems finding marriage. Will look again at the Family search site. Thanks for you help.

Isle of Man Lookup Requests / Daniel KINRADE of Andreas
« on: Tuesday 08 February 11 07:03 GMT (UK)  »
Hi am looking for some help for a friend who is wanting to catch up with descendents of the following family when she goes to Isle of Man late this year.
She is looking for descendents of Daniel & Elizabeth (CROWE) KINRADE of Andreas or his brothers family William & Margaret(KNEEN) KINRADE of Lezayre.
Daniel KINRADE's children were : Elizabeth ch 1853, Daniel ch1856, John Joseph ch1858, Catherine Anne ch 1861, Margaret Ellen ch1861, Esther Matilda ch 1868 & Christian ch 1873. All christened in Andreas.
My friend is from the John Joseph line but does not know what his sisters married names are. Is anyone able to help with this?
William KINRADE's children were (from the 1881 census) William age 32, John age 43, Ann HAMPTON age 41 & Robert age 39.

Any help with finding descendents of these family lines greatly appreaciated.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Re: date my flairs please
« on: Sunday 06 February 11 06:35 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Looks like China has a little knowledge in this area. I am no expert but reference books on dating your Family Photos indicate that your photo is between 1870's to 1880's.  The jacket he wears is single brested with narrow lepals (1870's -1880's) The shoulder line slopes and the length of the jacket indicates 1870-early 1880's The coat reached the bottom of the trouser seat. With a bound edge and the kerchief in the pocket also 1870's -1880. Up until 1880 men trousers were straight, baggy and shapeless after 1880 men trousers became narrow in the leg with a front seam.  I agree that it is also the way he is standing making the Flare look. The tie and the high buttoned waistcoat also fit this period. Doing a google I see Moryson took over the James Rae photography shop in Dumfries in 1868 when James Rae had achange of vocation. Have you done a comparison of family members to pinpoint who the phot is off?
Hope this helps

Cornwall Completed Lookup Requests / Re: MAGOR Family
« on: Sunday 06 February 11 04:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Jenny
Hi Mezza 123, I am a g-g-granddaughter of William Henry Smith and Elizabeth Emily Magor. I am also trying to find details about William's parents. ...... need some info on James and Mary. Can you help?
They came from Tasmania, Aust.  I have contact with 2 others down your SMITH line, both in Australia. If you work out how to send me a personal message, as it looks like you and I are pretty new at using this site....I have more details and can put you in contact with them. I am related through Mary LAW's sister, Jane ...not a direct link, but researching your family has found my problem children. Mary was married x2 and Mary & Jane came to Tas with convict mother.

Are you still looking for the Magor/Major/Mayor family?  I am looking for more information on the Smith and Law family. I have a little information on William Henry Smith m. 1874 Elizabeth Emily MAGOR. She was born in Cornwall and her parents were Reuben MAGOR & Mary PHILLIPS. I have a contact who is a direct line down the  William Henry SMITH line.
