I use this lovely program, but due to 2 computers crashing and the dubious wonders of the new all singing all dancing 64 bit programs now it will not work on modern computers. Regarding your problem I cannot confirm exactly, but seem to remember that if you get into descendant tree mode with the couple or person at the head of the tree you can right click and use the disconnect facility for that person, then connect the person you want in place and everything should fall into line. Have a look at the disconnect function in the help register for the program, it is not that onerous. I always write out or print off the instruction so that I know what I am doing. You have probably been told after all this time but just in case I thought that I would reply. Good luck.

Saw your enquiry for Woodford. 1841 census HO107/323/4/54 shows Joseph Halls at Fence Piece Cottage, Gt Ilford, Barking, Essex with sister Sarah 20, brothers James 15, and Jacob 12.
also Eliza Pool(e) with father Joseph a post labourer was a sawyer age 75, Elizabeth age 20 (note not Eliza) needlewoman, brother Charles age 1, sisters Emily age 3 and Harriet age 2 at ref HO107/323/23/13 all born in the County of Essex.
Hope this is of some help. Was not sure if you were seeking the brothers and sisters of the parents which is really difficult without the parish registers which can be viewed through The Society of Genealogists for a fee or a number of records are in transcript at Essex libraries:

Kent / Re: Brastead Look-up please - SPEED
« on: Thursday 29 July 10 14:13 BST (UK)  »
Hello

The name I am seeking at Brasted is George Speed, baptised circa 1792 (father's name also George).

George Jnr married someone named Elizabeth circa 1812 and produced a family of children at Brasted betwen 1815 and 1830, by which time the family moved to London where Elizabeth eventually died in 1857 and George married for a second time in 1859.  This is where he declared his father's name to be George, a Coachman.

Can anyone help firstly with a baptism for George Speed Jnr, circa 1792, then possibly ...
a marriage between George and Elizabeth circa 1812 either at Brastead or near parish?

Any help would be realy appreciated, thank you.
Carol

Hallo
George Speed born Brasted 1796 estimated from census. Married 1. Elizabeth Tooth 4/5/1815 Brasted. Elizabeth born 1792 Brasted Kent baptized 2/9/1792. Died 12/6/1857 4 Short Street, St Leonards, Shoreditch, Middlesex. George then married Sarah Betts nee Bravan on 10/12/1859 at St James Church, Shoreditch, Middlesex. Sarah possibly remarried after George's death a William Vye or George Shackell Q2 1866 ref 1c 332 but she is in the Islington Workhouse in 1871 census as Sarah Speed. George died 1864 Shoreditch, Middlesex.
