Somerset / Robert Baker/Elizabeth Collard look up please
« on: Tuesday 28 August 12 12:41 BST (UK)  »
I am wondering if my brick wall is the fact that the man I thought was the father is actually the grandfather!

So:  Robert Baker m Ellizabeth Collard at Wilton Taunton on 10 Feb 1796. (have seen that entry)

I am trying to find any children before I believe he moved to Milverton - I have a number born there but would like to know if there are any records of children born 1796-1800 probably in Taunton or possibly Nynehead.  Would be really good if there was one called Robert!!!

Many thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Somerset / Edward Coleman - where burried?
« on: Thursday 14 June 12 09:51 BST (UK)  »
I am hoping someone can help me find out!  He died 3 November 1949 in Keyford Men's Home.  He worshipped at East Woodlands near Coleford but of course may not have been burried there.  I live many miles from Somerset so it is not easy to trawl through the records and it is too recent to be on line.  Many thanks for any help.

Family History Beginners Board / Have death certificate - where burried?

Simple question  :o.  I have some death certificates but have been unable to find the burial place.
Could someone please let me know the best way of going about this?  For one I have tried the parish church but not there 1900.  The other is more recent (1940s) and could have been cremation so where are those records held?  I will try local parish records but don't suppose many will have been deposited yet.  Many thanks for any help.

Armed Forces / 1911 census Balmoral Terrace, St Hellier
« on: Monday 07 May 12 10:23 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help me with a query regarding the census?  The relative in question was in the army in India.  The address on the census shows Balmoral Terrace, Indian Army, St Hellier.   Was there special housing set aside for the services?  Does Balmoral Terrace still exist.  I would be really grateful for any help. ( Originally posted on Jersey board and someone suggested it be added on here.)

Might get a better response with this posting in the Armed Forces section of Rootschat
Thank you will try that.
