Hi Plunk47

I've just stumbled across your post re the Rover car.

I am doing similar research for a friend who has a 1925 Rover 14/45 which was owned by the HB family.  He thinks it may have RAF connections, and the original paintwork was badly over-sprayed in RAF blue.

It had modifications to the carburettor and a tow-bar fitted.

I have found a reference to Sir Thomas-Houston RAFVR which seems to confirm the RAF connection, presumably with RAF Chartehall?

Kind regards,

Roger

Thanks Jim,

That fits in with what I know.  My mother worked as a secretary in Accrington during WWII, say aged 19 onwards.  There are two gaps in my records as to where she lived: 1922-36 (age 2 to 16) and 1936-46.

This photo would appear to be in the first period, so that gives me a clue as to where to start looking in the Bury voter's lists.

The woman is Mabel Alice Greenwood (nee Walton) b.8 Jul 1892, d.21 Mar 1968.

The man is her husband Ronald Greenwood b.12 Apr 1893 d.12 Aug 1973

The young girl is their daughter and my mother Mary Alfreda Greenwood b.23 Feb 1920 d.12 Oct 1984

I can rule out 31 Jan 1934, Oct 1936 and post Oct 1946

They were pasted into an album, so I don't have access to the rears.  They are printed on normal photgraphic paper, the sort chemists used to print photos on.

Thank you!

Roger
