Thanks  I have only just seen this reply what an amazing find.  Thomas Wilton was parish clerk of North Stoke so I have found a few Wilton records on free reg in North Stoke but this marriage was new.

Good that you found it.

"Week & Abson" may be a typo, it probably should be "Wick & Abson."

Hi!

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I am trying to track down my gg grandfather George Cox.  On census returns he gave his place of birth as North Stoke approx 1802.

He married Harriet Balderston in 1834 in Walcot and lived in Bath, St James, Pierrepoint Street, as a solicitor from at least 1837 until 1871.  He also farmed land in Weston, Bath.

Parents of George Cox:

George COX m. Mary Ann WILTON 18 Nov 1799 St Martins North Stoke
Children
29 Jan 1799    George    M   St Martins    North Stoke
About 1801,     Thomas     M

Mary Ann died about 1805.

George COX m. Christiana Cussens 6 July 1809 All Saints Weston
Children
About 1810, Jane Thorn
About 1810, Ann
About 1811, Henry Thorne Cussens
About 1814, Christiana
14 Aug 1818, Joseph Thorne
About 1820, Mary
1821, Edward Burton

I am trying to trace further back, prior to the 1841 census, but obviously need to find his baptism, parents and hopefuly any siblings.

Hope you can help!

Regards

Evie
