I am trying to find out what happened to my grandmothers aunt. Evangeline Hugh was born in 1878 in Grampound, Cornwall daughter of Thomas Hugh and Elizabeth Ann Bennett. She is on the 1901 census aged 22 then nothing more, i cant find a marriage, death or any sort of record after that. Could anyone offer any suggestions please?

My great grandfather William Morris was born in 1880 and died in 1939. He worked at the tate and lyle factory in silvertown and apparently had an accident there and was never the same again, according to the family. Does anyone know how i can find out about this accident please?  :)

Thanks for help on Charles and William, think you are right best to try for Williams marriage cert first. Hate to sound a bit thick but what are PRs?

Warwickshire / Charles Heath
« on: Tuesday 12 July 11 10:41 BST (UK)  »
I am stuck on my 3rd great grandfather and dont know where to go from here. Charles Heath was born according to censuses and his death cert. around 1824 in Warton, Warwickshire. He moved to Atherstone by the 1851 census and married Harriot Quimby from Seckington and had a son called William. I cant find a marriage cert for Charles and Harriot so am not sure but there is a Charles Heath on the 1841 census age 15 and what i presume is his father William age 45 but no mother. Charles and Harriot moved to stoke on trent by the 1861 census and stayed here till they both died. According to the later census for William Heath he was born about 1800 and married a Catherine Collins who was his housekeeper. Could anyone please help and tell me how i could find out more?

Thanks for everyones help on Martha Ann Steele. I sent off for the birth certificate from heaton mersey and the fathers details were the same as on her marriage certificate, he was an engine driver in a cotton factory and her mother was Ann Kelsall. I went to the library and she married Daniel Steele then was a widow when she married William Ratcliffe.

Thanks for your replies. Someone else has suggested the name Ann Kelsell as Marthas mother so hopefully with a bit of checking i might have Marthas mums name. The Sarah Jane Shaw you suggested looks promising too. Thank you for your help, Focus

Thank you both for your replies to my Martha Ann Steele question. You have both given me the first name Ann and if Ann and Daniel did marry in stoke on trent i should be able to find the record at the local library. Thank you again, Focus.

Staffordshire / Sarah Jane Shaw & Martha Ann Steele
« on: Wednesday 09 February 11 22:45 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for two mothers names to complete my five generation pedigree chart. Sarah Jane Shaw was born in Cheshire in 1856, according to the censuses in somewhere called Hardfoot or Hartsford. Her fathers name was John Shaw and he was a shoe maker and her address was given as Marsh Street and her profession was servant. She married George Barnett in 1882 and they lived in Adderley Green, Caverswall. This is all i know about her, i need her mothers name to help finish my chart. Also i need the name of Martha Ann Steeles mother, Martha was born about 1870 in Heaton Mersey, Lancashire . She married George Carr in 1890 in stoke on trent, on her certificate her father was Daniel Steele and his profession was engine driver. She went on to have at least 10 children, Florence in 1890 then Joseph Henry, Lottie Elizabeth, Mary Ellen, John, William, Sarah Ann, George James, Susannah and Thomas Carr. If anybody could please help with either of these names it would be great to be able to finish and print off my chart.
