US Completed Requests / Re: Honor Elizabeth Tingman nee Ward - Death

Hello Denise,

I'm not sure if you are still tracking this string. I was researching the Tingman Clan and got back to 1785 in Scotland. Along the way I found my great grandmother's (Honor Tingman - Nee Ward) grave site on this post.

http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/QUEBEC-RESEARCH/2012-11/1353371258.

The dates reported on the stone don't align perfectly with what I had so far but they are very close.

Strange but true our family had a cottage not 15 Mins from the site and we did not know she was resting just down the road.

Take care

Rick

Thanks Jacquie,

I found James and Sarah (Nee Walker) and used that to trace back to his father John Tingman born in Fife Scotland in about 1785. I also found the same John in three 1841 through 1851 Census so I know he lived a long life for the times. It gets thin from there. I did find one note listing his father  as John Tingman II but I'm not sure of the validity.

I appreciate the other information as it it helps fill in some blanks.

Best regards Rick in Canada.

Thanks J.J.

Interesting link that shows where my Great Grandmother is resting. Turns out our family spent a few summers just down the road from this location and I never knew.

Still trying to trace the name past her husband John E. Tingman Born 1 Mar 1863. 1901 Census shows he immigrated in 1890 and was listed as being from England.

Thanks Again
Rick

Are you still interested in this thread. I am the son of Jim Tingman.

Just started looking into my roots.

Very new to this.

Only a few Tingman, a few still in the Eastern Provinces, a few in Que and some in Ontario...
If you want to drop a note... didn't seem to be any others on the censuses, so there's a good chance several if not all are yours....( they were transcribed correctly in 1911 on the AutoGen site but not in 1901
