Cumberland Lookup Requests / Re: JENKINSON - TINKER family of Dalston, Carlisle
« on: Monday 11 October 10 00:09 BST (UK)  »
Hi Trix
I have an 1841 census record of John Brookes (I think the one that was married to Elizabeth Jenkinson) 50 boot and shoe dealer at Old Millgate Manchester with wife Elizabeth 45, and two daughters and a servant. Emma 14 and Ann 10. Remember that ages were rounded down in 1841. I am descended from John's brother William Brookes.

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Re: Brookes - Barrow marriage Manchester 1788 - details?

Hi Trix
Saw your old message.
I too come from Thomas and Mary Brookes, via their son William that had the shoe shop in Manchester, and his son William who came to Qld in Australia. But I have no further information on Thomas and Mary.
Who are you descended from?
Cheers

England / Re: Hynes family

Thankyou all very much. You have been helpful. I think the Hynes children were born in Ireland but baptised at Bishops Caundle in England. The family seemed to have alternated between Ireland and England.

England / Hynes family
« on: Tuesday 05 October 10 00:06 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Is it possible to find a birth (about 1846) or christening record (Jun 1848) for Jane or Joane Hynes at Drum in Roscommon, Ireland. And if so, are her siblings Alfred Mortimer Hynes and Mary A Hynes in the same place (Alfred chr May 1849) and Mary in about 1852.
Also looking for a marriage record of Mortimer Hynes and Emma Evans in 8 Jun 1847, possibly in Sligo.
Would be grateful for any help (besides familysearch)
Thanks
Cheers

Armed Forces / Re: 23 Regiment of Foot
« on: Thursday 15 July 10 00:38 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am looking for any further information on Josh Querchy who was a sergeant in the 23 Regiment of Foot. I am hoping that this guy is Joseph Querci, born abt 1780, married to Mary in Ireland (possibly Dublin) in abt 1813, and two daughters (Theresa and Elizabeth) born in France in 1814 and 1816 respectively, followed by a son Joseph in 1820 in Ireland.
Anything would be gratefully received,
Cheers
