My ??Great-GrandfatherEdward Maudsley Hockly, was the Master on HMS China, from Liverpool to New York in around July 1869,  but due to being ill he stayed in America while the First Officer commanded the ship on the return voyage to Liverpool. The First Officer received a note from him stating that he was in Buffallo. Nothing has been heard as to the whereabouts of Edward since. His death doesn't appear in any records back in England either! A newspaper article in Liverpool Mercury in January 25th 1870, Pg7 (Col b) regarding Southport (U.K.) Court Petty Sessions, his 2nd wife whom he married in 1864 states that on his arrival in New York he sent her a note, but she has heard nothing from him since. The article also states that information has been received which showed that the Captain had gone away with a lady, but not what information. Please assist me to find him

I am looking to trace living decendants of James Ross Hunter and Matilda Phillips,
who were living in Newington in 1901 and then at Fanshawe Avenue, Barking in 1911.
Children shown in 1911 census are:- Elizabeth M, James W, Selina, Adelaide M,
and Alice B. Hunter.
