Fife / Re: Strathruddy (1775) - where about in Fife?

Many thanks.

I was sure I used the spelling Strathruddie on Google Maps but it did not come up.

I will now be making use of the Old-maps.co.uk website

Fife / Strathruddy (1775) - where about in Fife?
« on: Saturday 20 November 10 22:04 GMT (UK)  »
William Skirving (c.1745 – 1796) was one of the five Scottish Martyrs for Liberty. A history of him on Wikipedia says he married Rachel Abercrombie in 1775 and set about farming at Strathruddy Fife on land inherited from her father Andrew Abercombie.

Williamson's Directory for Edinburgh 1784 identifies him as - Skivering Will, of Strathruddy

I have been unable to identify a location for Strathruddy in Fife.

Can anyone advise on where this farmland may have been or advise on likely sources for tracking it down
