I have who I believe is an ancestor of mine on the 1841 at Hare and Hounds Inn at Crosthwaite
Keswick.
He is William Dixon 55 Inkeeper, Mary Dixon 45, Mary Dixon 20 Sarah 6 years and Mary Lee 25.
More Dixon's at the Cottage in the Hare and Hounds Yard.
I can't find anything else on this family.   Would anyone have any connection or any information
on this family please.

Thankyou

HI,  My great grandfather John William Bennett was born at Cheapside
Ambleside on the 30th May 1865. He belonged to a family of carriers.
When my great grandma died in childbirth he married another lady
Kate Reynolds in 1901.    I understand his second marriage was not a happy one and he travelled about quite a bit with the carrier business.
I found Kate Bennett(nee Reynolds) on the 1911 at Aston with her
daughter Lucy Kate Bennett but have searched and searched on 1911 census and cant find John William.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My great grandpa John William Bennett was born at Ambleside in May 1865 to a family of carriers.   He married a Kate Reynolds after his first wife (my great grandma) died and settled in Sutton Coldfield.
I understand from a descendant of his second wife that the marriage was not a good one and he was frequently away from home , trying I think, to keep the carrier business going.
He is on the 1901 with his parents in Ambleside and married but his second wife is in Sutton Coldfield.
His wife is on the 1911 at Sutton Coldfield with his daughter but I cant find him anywhere.
My grandpa came to Mellor Nr Blackburn and met my grandma and he is on the 1911 at Blackburn.but I cant find John William anywhere.
John William Bennett is on my grandpa wedding cert. as a "soilder" in 1917 but
Has anyone any ideas please?

Thanks for taking the trouble to read this.l
