Thanks Jon really appreciate that. For some reason I was unable to access the burial record on the city ark website so I am extremely grateful for those records.

Yes I was aware of the newspaper report into his death thanks, it was that which sparked the question of where he might be buried

Kent Lookup Requests / Gravesend Burial Request
« on: Tuesday 08 April 25 13:24 BST (UK)  »
Hi, Is anybody able to check to see if their is a grave marker for one of my ancestors please. The name is Horatio Nelson Hallsey who died aged just 9 months in January 1879. the transcript of the burial record on FindMyPast shows that he was buried in Gravesend and Milton. I now live in Cheshire, so if anyone can check this for me I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance.

My great, great grandparents were 67 and 64 in January 1928 and lived in Camden in North London so probably were not affected by the actual flood, but would have known all about it and remembered it. I descend from a daughter who moved up north to Co Durham in 1919.

Yes they certainly would have known about it, it made national headlines at the time.

Thanks for this blog chiddicks :)! I've started to read through, very interesting! I had heard of it, I think it also affected other parts of the Thames into Essex and Kent?

I’m sure that it must have done.

Thank you for trying, it was worth a try. It always surprises me when the grave has been purchased but there’s no memorial, but dying was and still is an expensive business. Thanks again.

Thanks Boo I did have the cutting but thank you for checking and of course if you come across any further references that are connected to the family of course let me know. Once I have written his story, I will send you the link.
Thanks again for all your help.
