Lincolnshire / Re: Surfleet Parish Registers

Hi Everyone
I'm hoping someone can help me, i am looking for the parents of Rebecca Taylor born in Surfleet and baptised on the 1.3.1829 in Surfleet. We ordered her marriage certificate but it only gave us her father who was Edward Taylor. Her death cert. does not give us any parental details. We are trying to confirm who her mother was. At this stage we have a possible Susannah Clark but are not sure we have the correct one. Our Rebecca went on to marry Thomas Dutton in Horncastle at the Independant Chapel in 1860. It's difficult over here in Australia to get the parish records especially online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks heaps
Sharon

Hi Vanessa

Thanks for that, i feel i have the right parents/family. I also looked at the site mentioned by Casalguidi and that looks hopefull also. Rebecca married a Thomas Dutton in 1860 at Horncastle Lincolnshire. This was Thomas's second marriage and they only had one child that i can see - Lavinia Florence Dutton (my 2x great grandmother). She immigrated to Australia in 1910 -they had 14 children all born in England in the Wisbech area. My only question mark would be that my Rebecca did not name her only daughter after her mother and her only daughter did not name any of her children either Edward or Susan and all of the 14 had both a first and middle name. Not unusual i suppose, but i would have thought either name would have appeared somewhere?
Anyway i will keep following investigating and see what i can find. It's a bit hard being over in Australia so i do a lot on the web.
Will let you know if i find anything.
Thanks again
Sharon

Hi There

I came across your request while searching the web for my ancestors. I have a Rebecca Taylor born in 1829, Surfleet she is my 3xgreat grandmother and i have her parents as being Edward Taylor and a Susan ?. Do you know if your Edward you have mentioned had a daughter called Rebecca. The dates you have mentioned seem feasible.

Thanks

Me again.. :D, I have the same certificate as well which i received from Canuto's son Philomeno (Phillip) who was my husband great grandfather who lived to be 96 years old and i had the great pleasure of knowing him. He was a gracious gentle man who could also be quite a character. His mother was Canuto first wife Desideria.
Cheers

Hi Sabrina
My husband is the great great grandson to Canuto Palancio. I'm working on his family tree for him and would love to hear from you and see how you got on with this, i have often looked at this line and wonder where to start. This site is new to me so i don't know if there is someway we can do this privately.
regard
Sharon
