I could go into yarm and check for you in the churches, trouble is there are 3 of them so do you have any idea at all which one?

It looks as though I have results, according to IGI for:
Church of England. Parish Church of Yarm

Thanks again

Pat

Hi dawnkaren

Yes there is a connection to the Aldersons in that my husbands
ggggg grandfather was John Hutchinson who married
Rebekah Alderson on 5 Mar 1771
Recorded in: Kirk Leavington, Yorkshire, England.

I am guessing the present day Aldersons are likely descended from the Aldersons
who were in the area back in the 1770s.

Thanks so much for your information.
I am way down south otherwise I would take a drive there myself.

Pat

Hello Sante

My husband is a Hutchinson and I have just traced his family back to Kirklevington.
Isaac and Ann were my husband's gggg grandparents.
Isaac shows up on the 1851 census return aged 76 in Durham as a visitor to the Jackson family.
He is listed as married so presumably Ann was still alive.
I don't know Ann's maiden name yet and nor do I know about any family emigrating to New Zealand
but my research continues.
Isaac's son John b 1810 Kirklevington married Ann Gill - they were my husband's ggg grandparents.
The family moved to Sunderland and in 1841 were in Vine place where John was working as a sawyer.

Alan

This is just a mystery - Charles' birth certificate shows his mother as Margaret Ann Donnison but his brothers birth certificate gives Margaret Ann Brown.
According to Sue Margaret Ann was married at age 19 to William Hutchinson so a previous marriage seems unlikely.
Also according to Sue "she did give at least two of her children the middle name 'Donnison', so this is obviously a relevant surname"
Finally quoting Sue again " Charles Wardle Hutchinson does not appear with William and Margaret on the 1901 or 1911 census, indeed, in 1911, the widowed William, does not even acknowledge his existence"
Haven't thought of a sensible reason yet for having two surnames or why Charles was sent away. I knew the man and he was neither physically nor mentally handicapped in any way.
All guesses very welcome.

BTW Georgette says on her marriage certificate she is 23 years old but she wasn't she was 19. My husband's brother told me yesterday that 'big Nan' ie Georgette was born in 1900 so I checked her death records and it shows her date of birth as 3 FEB 1900.
Maybe she was below the minimum age to marry back then in Belgium without parent's consent?

Thanks again for all your input and the marriage certificate etc

Pat

Wow - so you have the marriage certificate. I can't tell you how much effort I have put into trying to get hold of a copy of this. I can read French so I would gladly help with any translation.

I have Charles's birth certificate and will gladly send you a copy - will message you offline.

so excited....

Hi Sue

My husband is David George Hutchinson and Charles Wardle Hutchinson was his grandfather.
I have Charles Wardle Hutchinson's birth certificate and it look like the mother's maiden name is something like Donnison ?
Charles and Georgette had two children Jaques and George. Jaques was my husband's father.
They lived in Belgium until Jacques was about 13 and then they came back to England and lived in Feltham, Middlesex at 13 Francis Avenue.
be very pleased to speak with you.
