Armstrong is a very popular name in Newbiggin, just look around St Bartholomews Churchyard!
Anyway, my grandfather was an Armstrong (William), born in 1892 to John and Martha Armstrong and had a brother Edward born in 1876
The details are in the 1901 census records
I've just started researching them but have attached an image of the record
