Morning

Thanks for your notes.  All my current information leads me to believe that the fathers name was Lovell. Lowe is something to do with her, wheather she was illegitimate and this was her birth fathers name cant say but something is wrong as on the original of her sons birth certificate she has crossed out Lovell and entered Lowe.

Her brother can be traced to death as he has been the informant on both parents death certificate and is located via telephone book for many years in London.

I still cannot locate or explain the issues I have with her parents on 1901 census, birth or marriage certificates but will keep at it

thanks

Paul

hi
there is confusion as to her maiden name. On the 1911 census she is down as a Lovell and all the family the same, father/mother and younger brother.
On her marriage certificate she is calling herself Lowe and her fathers details have been entered as Lowe
Her brother was defiantly Lovell and I believe she was changing the name for reasons best known to herself as I can find no explanation off the family

As yet I do not have a birth certificate for her as cant find anyone close to the details I know to be true. I cant find her parents marriage either!

well thank you all for the rapid responses etc.
I had not heard of North Britain before and will start down that avenue.

Found the Cheltenham Alexander Lovell with a Scottish mother but the feel of the family is not right to be my man.

Checked out the entry for the Battersea Lovell and again seems to be a dead end.

There is defiantly something not right here with this particular part of the family as names and dates do not match up

I believe that the daughter may have been born out of wed lock and not even his. this may explain the differing surnames that keep recurring

But hey ho and onward to North Britain.

In 1911 he lived in Wimbledon and employment stated as Electrical Engineer. In 1922 on daughters marridge certificate the surname had been changed to Lowe but he was still electrical engineer. On death certificate in 1935 he has been put down as musician and the name was Lovell again On his wife's death certificate in 1950 the name was Lovell and a retired musician was his occupation. I cannot find a birth certificate, any census information before 1911 although the daughter was 11 in 1911 perhaps indicating marridge prior to 1900/1911 or a marridge certificate.  the only clue I have is on the 1911 census were his place of birth has been put down as Perth N.B. I believe although the N is not clear.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Apologies for the error. New to this information supplier. Any info on Helen Kate Townsend born  approx 1875  or Ada Townsend born 1870 approx would be grateful. I think I have their mother Cathwrine Townsend born 1845.  I cannot trace a Helen Kate except for reference s to Ellen and yet on later census and death certificates her name is listed as Helen.

Looking for family relatives to my grandmother Margaret Ada Restall, born 1900 died 1982, Her mother was Helen Kate Townsend of Redditch. She had a sister Ada Townsend plus other brothers and sisters. I understand that a solicitor relative attended her funeral when she died in Rugby Any information would be gratefully received as I am having great difficulty pinning them all down

hi  I thought I knew the username from somewere!! I have a couple of photographs of Sarah at various times but very few of Edmund. I also have some photo's of building sites they were all involved with building Kilns and Chimneys. I have no information re Edmund's sister as I have been going around in circles looking for a great grandfather born in 1860 but no records that are clear until 1911. A story for another day.  How would you like these photos as I have them in digital format now.

Any info would be gratefully received as I am now going around taking pictures of all the address linked to the family tree.

Best wishes Paul

Hi   Ephraim Jones married Mildred Annie Jones in 1907. Both were from large families which has led to a cast related family. They had two daughters, Dorethy and Phyllis marring Neville Williams and William Ellis Edwards respectively. Phyllis had a daughter named Norma who spent much of her childhood in Buckley with Ephraim and Annie. Ephraim died suddenly in 1946 at a family wedding Annie lived as a widow until her death in 1960, an event I remember well as a small great grandson. the family building business was carried on into the 70's by Dorethy and Neville until their retirement

Ephraim made his initial money by working in Canada in 1905, helping build the Toronto Post Office Tower. On his return he specialised in Kiln and chimney building, the last major job being an extention on the chimney at Tunnel Cement in Pen y ffordd in 1965ish.

I attach a picture of Annie mother and father, Edmund and Sarah Griffiths

Hope this helps  Paul
