I am aware of all the children on Catherine's death certificate.
Could I have further details on John Flood that you refer to.
Have you any idea on the death of James Flood?

The death cert for the James I have been following died in 1887 of Abbattoir Road, Balmain. He was a butcher, his father was James Flood, a Miller and mather is Ann McAbe. It is certified by William Sydney Michael Gowan, grandson of Balmain. He was born in Ireland and 33 years in NSW. He was married in Ireland at age 17 years to Catherine Hyland. BUT children ae Michael 43, Rose 40, Mary 38, Maggie 34, James 30 living. All males deceased. James was 67 years old on death but should be 77 if born 1810
My theory is the grandson got his uncles and aunties confused but it is only a theory and not based on fact. Do you have any records of the children of James and Catherine and who they married?
I agree James born 1810

I was wondering if anyone has any additional information over the past years since this was posted.
Like you I am trying to trace the death of James Flood who settled in Carcoar with father James and Mother May or Mary McCabe. I have Catherine his wife who died in 1891 and is describe as a "married woman" indicating her husband is alive (not widow). She died in Lyndhurst. I have the James that died in 1887 at Balmain but the children are not correct, his age is 10 years out, his mother is close to being corect, his wife is close to being correct but the problem is it is filled out by his grandson of 17 years of age! And the Sydney Morning Herald of the day says his wife is either Jane or Bridget (which I haven't worked out yet)
Any help would be so greatly appreciated
