I gave the wrong date, Alexander was placed in an unknown cildrens home in approx 1915 at the age of 3 yrs when his mother died. He was later (date currently unknown) fostered by an unknown family and lived in the Waterloo area of Liverpool. Family history tells us that his father was called John. Alexander had 2 sisters, one, Florence died in the unknown home at the age of 9yrs. Currently this date is not known. Sorry about being so vague, but Im not local so Im trying all avenues before I travel north!

Hi
Ive just recently started a new line of research, Darbyshire, so far only confirmed back to 1885. So far one problem, too many William & James! Current data gives locations of Ordsall and Salford with marriage links to the Broome family.
William b? was a sergent in the Lancashire Fusiliers - possibly also a wheelright, two sons known William b1885 & James b?
Any chance on this vague data a correlation to your research?
with anticipation, thanks
Steve

thanks for that data, i will add it to the list.
I have tried several sources, local FHS, Accrington newspaper included, in an effort to trace the bible, so far no success. Its either travelled down a female family line or long destroyed. One can only hope its the first ......................

thanks for the reply, ideally Im trying to trace the bible. John Emanuel and my direct line split around 1760, so the data on him that I have found are purely a side interest. Most of this data and the bible reference is from his funeral and epitaph from the Accrington paper of 1892. However all info is of interest - the disturbing thing  however was that the photo of John Emanuel circa 1890 that I have bears a frightening resemblance to my father in his later years.
Are you of John Emanuel' line?
