Hello Dennis,

thanks for your reply. LONG was a typo from another ongoing investigation - MARCH is correct and I agree with your information. Sorry about that.

Elizabeth GREEN was alive if not kicking in 1861 aged 72 living with her son George and his wife Sarah (1861/1208/55/9). I therefore conclude that the Elizabeth GREEN death registered in St Faiths (4b 5[16]) in Sep 1856 was another.

I only know of the following 12 Thomas & Abigail GREEN  offspring (all events Swannington unless stated):

 Barnard c 31 Oct 1778, d after 1841, m 5 Jun 1804 Sarah FITT
 Stephen c 26 Dec 1779, d after 1851, m Q4 1840 Rebecca SMITH
 Ann c 7 Oct 1782, d bef 1785
 Ann c  1 Feb 1785
 Tabitha Abigail c 17 Jun 1786
 Frances c 15 Jun 1787
 Mary Tabitha c 4 Oct 1790
 Kezia b 13 Oct 1791, d after 1851, m David WILKINSON
 John c 2 Jul 1793, d bef 1841, m 16 Aug 1814 Elizabeth GILLAM
 George c 11 Sep 1794, d after 1861, m 26 Dec 1820 Diss Frances TIPPLE
 Elizabeth c 10 Oct 1795
 William c 18 Feb 1797

which 3 extra do you have? Do you have any other marriage info?

Also, if you could supply the other 10 siblings of George c 1820, then I could presumably connect most of the stray Swannington GREENs that I have on file and spend some time with my wife!

Regards from the Rhineland
Peter

Hello Dennis,

I'm afraid that I don't have an answer for you - just a question:

How is Alfred's father George GREEN (b ca 1821 Swannington, d 1892 m 1851 Swannington Sarah LONG b 1822 Aylsham) related to Thomas and Abigail GREEN? Could you please post George's parents.

Thanks
Peter

Hello Margaret,

Thomas and Abigail were my 5xgreat grandparents via their eldest (of 11) Barnard b 1778, Swannington who m on 5 Jun 1804 in Swannington Sarah FITT b ca 1779.

My line is via Barnard's 2nd (of 4) William Christopher c 12 Jan 1807, Swannington who m Elizabeth b ca 1815 Great Witchingham.

I do not know Elizabeth's surname or the date of their marriage or the name of their 2nd (of 5) who is my 2xgreat grandfather. Their children were:

Sarah b ca Dec 1843
Unknown b bef 1847
Miriam b ca Dec 1846
Henry b ca 1849
Leanne (?) b ca 1853

What information do you have about Thomas and Abigail apart from their marriage? Do you know anything about their parents?

My grandmother Miriam May GREEN was born and lived in Swannington with my father until 1924 when they moved to the next village.

Over to you ...

Regards
Peter

Hello Jackie,

that's a very kind offer, thank you. If you fancy a stroll around St Edmund's cemetery (camera-in-hand ready to snap any CARR gravestones) the next time that you're visiting Old Costessey, I for one would be interested!
