If you'd like to send me a private message with your email address i'll send you an invite to my tree on ancestry.com. I recently made contact with one of Nora's grand-nephew's who has been great help providing information on the Kerry Moynihan's. He's also sent on some photos of your grandparent and brother Murdoch, it was really nice to finally put some faces to the names I had been researching, happy to share those also. Ken

Hi There, thanks for the info and nice to connect!  Nora was my 2nd great grandmother through her first marriage to John Kiely, my grandmother was reared by Nora and 'Ada' down on the Lower Road. Since I wrote this post i've made some progress on the Moynihans which i'd be happy to share if you are interested  - Ken

Thanks hallmark, I've already emailed the person who owns that blog. I got an initial response, but nothing after I emailed the additional information the requested, i'm not so sure that person has access to the burial register. - Ken

Australia / Re: Lookup Morgan McSWEENEY, Fremantle

Hi Ken, my name is Ann O'Sullivan (nee McSweeney) and I believe that Morgan Mc Swiney is possibly my great great grandfather. I have an article about him which says that he actually returned to Cork in 1869 having only served two years of a 7 year sentence. He was pardoned by all accounts. He lived in Cork at the time of his sentence for high treason. Let me know if you feel this is of any help. I appreciate that your post is really old but I only started looking recently following a family funeral where the the information surfaced.

Hi Ann,

I found some info on Morgan McSweeney that indeed stated that he was granted a free pardon and returned to Cork, I also found a short bio on 'Voices from the Grave' which included a photo of him. I am lead to believe that Morgan was a brother of my 2nd great grandfather John McSweeney. I'd be very interested in sharing some of the information that I have or anything that you maybe able to add to this story. thanks Ken

re the census what date did she get married in 1901, the census was to be filled in for the 31st of march 1901 and seemed to have been collected on the 18th of april 1901 no point looking for her in her maiden name if she's already married.

Dathai, yes i've found that marriage record along with baptism records for most of their children around Shronedarragh/Glenflesk.

Nora was actually married in July of 1900, however she was erroneously recorded by her employer as single with her maiden name on the 1901 census - ken

Have you thought to look for "Honora"...I have a rellie in my tree referred to as Nora but she was Baptised Honora.
Carol

I've tried all variations of the name, can find most of her siblings baptismal records just not hers!

Re DPM Did Jack Moynihan marry a Mary Fitzpatrick or a Margaret Moynihan?
M

Jack Moynihan married Mary Fitzpatrick in Bluffton, Indiana around 1895, I believe they had 3 sons, one of whom Jack married Margaret Phipps who were parents of Dan Pat Moynihan - ken
