Hi Audrey,
I came across this accidentally and it is really fascinating.
Do you know if the spelling in the Church records was always accurate? My great great grandparents had similar names (Heavey versus Heavy and Lohan or Logan versus Loghan) and I think this could be them. Would the baptismal records be available for their children which might throw some light on this.
