The Common Room / No. 4 on BC
« on: Tuesday 02 March 21 02:11 GMT (UK)  »
I have my grandmother's BC 1880, Daisy Helen White, that has the father's name, William McIntyre, crossed out and a no. 4 written over the top of his name. Her mother's name was Agnes White,  no occupation. Can anyone explain this to me
 Thank you Val Newman

Staffordshire / Mystery of Wilfred Baddeley
« on: Thursday 22 August 19 02:00 BST (UK)  »
I am hoping to solve the mystery of Wilfred baddeley son of Joseph and Mary Ann (nee Thomas) Baddeley. He was the illegitimate son of Mary born 7th feb 1905.
In 1911 neither Joseph nor Mary are down as having no children, address 11 Broom St.
Next door at no. 9  was a Wilfred Parkin same age  but does not seem to have a birth record.
In 1901 Census Joseph Baddeley was at 1 Back Charles St. Was Mary Ann Thomas b 1880 Hanley or George Parkin b 1874 Manchester living in the same area close to Joseph.
It is possible that George and his wife raised Wilfred Baddeley as Wilfred Parkin.
 Any feedback or ideas welcome

Caernarvonshire / Robert Thomas b Holywell
« on: Monday 19 August 19 08:18 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for the Robert Thomas who married Mary Jane Williams ( I think)
He was born about 1852-3 but there are so many with that name at that time in Holewell I do not know which one he is. Mary jane was born in Liverpool about the same time and again there are too many to select the correct Mary
Daughter Mary Ann Thomas was born 1880/81
Any help welcome
 Thank you

Hi Again,
Would you be able to confirm this

"left Halifax on Corsican  24.1.1912."
I thought it may be  24.1.1913

Thanks Val

Hi There,
The top reference is looking very promising to me. What is a Hollow Man ?
Samuel Thomas Revitt was a Groom in England.
 Thanks Val

Thanks for that I have a copy of James BC and he died with in weeks - no father named on the BC.
Mary Ward's daughter, Aunt "Dot", Frances Elizabeth was born in the July before they married and was registered under both Ward & Revitt.
Samuel Revitt does not seem to show up in the 1911 Census and I have no idea what became of him.
 Thanks Val
