I am hoping that the marriage between Robert Hardman and Betty Taylor on 2 April 1820 will give me a little bit more information.  Would be very pleased if anyone could help as  I live in Somerset. :-*

Kent Lookup Requests / Dartford Holy TrinityPRs
« on: Friday 19 December 08 09:46 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find the baptism of Joseph Aldridge probably in 1818 although one census shows it as 1820.  Census records say that he was born in Dartford. His father was Thomas Aldridge - a tailor.  His mother was Sarah.
Many thanks.

Lancashire / Christian names
« on: Thursday 11 May 06 11:57 BST (UK)  »
Please can anyone tell me whether it was usual in Lancashire to name the first son after his paternal grandfather as opposed to the child's father's name which was usual in other parts of the country?  Clutching at straws to find the father of Thomas Parker born 1804 in the Ribbleton area and who named his first son William.
Many thanks.

Hi Al
Many thanks for finding Samuel Barker. He came from Balsham Cambs. At least I can order the census now that I have the reference.

I would be very grateful if anyone could find him for me.

Thomas would have been 29 and he was a tailor.
Many thanks.

Kent / Re: Help needed please Underdown
« on: Monday 25 July 05 15:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Have looked on the 1901 census and there are several Underdown families in Kent.  What you need is the marriage certificate for Frederick and Nancy as this will give you Frederick's father's name and possibley where he was living at the time.  If you know any of this info let me know and I will have another look at the 1901 census for you.  I can then go back to previous census.

Hi
This is a wonderful offer for someone who lives in Somerset!
Please could you look in the 1851 census for Ribbleton, Preston.  I am trying to find Thomas and Grace Parker with a son James who was born in 1847 in Ribbleton - no further address given.  Thomas was a weaver.  Is there an 1851 name index that you could check?
Many thanks.
