Hi Neale, I've just come back from a night out with the family - I'll try to reply tomorrow morning to see if we can solve a few names. Hope this is OK with you.

I have a tree of Clemmy's starting with Francis Clemmy, born1814 & died in Preston 1878. I'm fairly sure his father was a Thomas and there is a connection with Carmel, (not a million miles away from Beetham or Milthorpe). It wouldn't surprise me if your Thomas (b.1812) is a brother of my Francis, he moved to Preston and had a number of children. Some had the Clemmey name, probably as a result of 19th Century illiteracy but as yet I have not explored the Clemmey's only the Clemmy's. I have researched another Clemmy in Newcastle but he may now be in Scotland. He is/was George born in Newcastle 1944; his father was also George, b.1916 and married Esther Bell on Xmas day 1939 in St Mary's Cathedral. Both are now deceased.

I'd welcome a response from you as we may be able to join two trees together. Is there anyway we can email privately? I too am a newbie and am yet to read all the instructions for this forum. :)
