He is listed as a private in the 1847 birth record (looks like it)
see http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/reels/k-470-1-3-097.pdf

would they have taken their families with them when they went abroad?

Thanks

He would seem to have been retired by 1861 as he is listed as the Gate Keeper for Oak Park, living in Oak Park Lodge

His "second" daughter was baptised in Carlow and the 1901 census says she was born there.

HI

I am trying to find out more about a Henry Northcote (Northcott, Norcott etc), it says on his daughters marriage cert in 1885 that he was in the 70th Foot, he had died in Carlow in 1875

I believe I have found a record of another daughters birth in 1847 where he is listed as a private in the 77th in Tralee Barracks

Is it possible to find out more about this man and his family, he likely married in 1845 and his "second" daughter was born in 1861 so is it likely he had more children between 1847 and 1861?

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Hi

I am starting out on the YEATES. I think I have traced the branch back to George Yeates and Janes Sparks (married 1819, see irishgenealogy.ie)

I wonder can anybody help me with with his parents and link me further back?

Any help much appreciated.

HI

Im looking into this family as well. As far as I know the original Denis and Maryanne are buried in Glasnevin. Alas the books are not available as they are being digitied. There could be others buried there as well.

Edward who looked after the business after Denis' death who was he? I dont think a son as about 5 years later Timothy had taken over. Could he have been a brother of Denis?

Timothy is in Glasnevin and after his 3 wifes is buried by himself and in a private grave but with no headstone.
