Tipperary / PHOTO REQUEST - KILLADRIFFE, TIPPERARY
« on: Sunday 19 September 10 22:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

Is anyone from teh Cahir area who might be able to duck out to Killadriffe Cemetery and take a few snaps for me? I know of at least one ancestor buried there but I'm dead certain there are more! My family is the BOYCE's and John Boyce d.1853 is buried in Killadriffe. I want to know if any of his family are too...they would be BOYCE's and BRETT's...

I hope their is a friendly local to help!

Cheers

Mark

Tipperary / Killardfriffe Cemetery - Near Bansha-Kilmoyler
« on: Wednesday 15 September 10 22:58 BST (UK)  »
Hello All,

Does anyone know of an index or burial list for the Killardfriffe (spelling?!) cemetery - I have one headstone photo of a John Boyce who is buried there - but I beleive more of his kin are in the same cemetery. But it is very hard to confirm this from Australia!!!

Take care.

ScottCharles,

Your father doesn't happen to be a Commodore in the Irish Navy perhaps?

Tipperary / Can someone take some photos for me in Bansha?

I've just discovered the location of my ancestors home in the Bansha Kilmoyler Parish and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to take some photos of the residence if they are in the area? I've attached a picture of where I believe the house is. Apparently there is a ramshackled old house and an iron gate...

Thanks!

Is anyone able to look up Mary McCarthy (nee Boyce) at the Melbourne Cemetery. She died in January 1888.

Cheers

Hi there,

I'm descended from Brett's also in the Bansha / Kilmoyler parishes in Tipperary. G-G-G Gradnfather married a Margaret Brett around 1853 in Tipperary. Her parents were Malachy Brett and Ellen  (unkown). He was a farmer, and thats all the info I have on these two. If you have any more info of the Brett's from Tippereary it would be great hear from you.

Cheers

Australia / Boyce Bible - Victoria Somewhere!?
« on: Monday 21 June 10 02:00 BST (UK)  »
Hello all,

My Ancestors, the Boyces, had a bible they brought out from Ireland to Victoria in the 1800's. It records a number of birth, deaths marriages and who knows what else. I have a few photocopis that my Grandfather got his hands on years ago, but i would love to find the actual Bible in order to scan and preserve it's contents. From what I've gathered, the Bible was passed down throught the daughters, and their daughters, so tracking it has become an issue.

I think it is in the Wangaratta area of Victoria, but I'm not sure...if anyone knows of this Bible or if anyone HAS this Bible, please get in contact with me.

Cheers

Mark Grealy

G-G-G Grandson of George Boyce, born Tipperary ~1828, died Wangaratta 1909.
