Thank you so much for the replys, Im really new to this. My great nan was Rose Matilda and she died at 31, I can not see a Horace William, so it is looking more likely his name was originaly William at birth.  Thank you all so much, that information will help alot, Im going to look into it and will post what I find out

I was wondering if any one can help Im trying to trace a Horace William Newman born roughly 1901, I think in banbury/oxfordshire. His father was called Samuel Newman. Horace married Rose Matilda Adkins in 1924 in Bourton, had two children Margaret and Rymond. Thats about all the info I have, it's almost like he disapeared into thin air, Im looking for his death certificate and any other info I can get about him ...thanks in advance, hope someone can help

Armed Forces / RAF Innsworth
« on: Tuesday 01 June 10 19:49 BST (UK)  »
Hi, this will probably be like looking for a needle in a haystack but here goes Im researching info on my late grandfather, the information I have is his name is Henry John Colvin, he was born in 1921, he carried out his RAF training at Innsworth, but I have no idea of year ,then based at RAF Honiley, Meer End.
Apparently he was a Leading then Senior aircraftsman. He was resited to Chippenham, then abroad to Eqypt. All in all he spent 7 yrs in the RAF before coming  to Coventry. My question is I only have one photo it's a group photo whilst he was training at Innsworth, is ther any kind of archive I may be able to get copies from, Im sorry in advance if Ive posted this in the wrong part or my question seems a little silly, but Im absolutely desperate to find another photo of him as this one is very faded, I never met him and can just about make out what he looked like, thanks
