Hello There

It is good to hear from the cowie side as I know no one from my fathers family.

This has been a year of study so not really focused on family history.  I have come unstuck at the same place as you.  I live in Scalloway on the west of Shetland.  We did see a lady called Jess Bruce when I was small and my dad who is now 79 was in touch with Patsy Bruce.
I know my grandfather had brothers, Albert and David. Donald fell from a ship and died when he was 18.
I think Patsy had a daughter called Pat.

It would be good to have some more information.
Look forward to hear from you and sorry for the late reply :)

Hello

I am the great great grandaughter of alexander cowie and jane cowie nee morrison,  they had a son called John Cowie who was born 1863 he married a jessie mckay from Brora.  their wedding certificate has the cowie's living at Richmond Place Port Gordon Enzie.

The cowie's left PortGordon and then moved to Macduff.  My Grandfather was Francis James Cowie and my name is Mary Cowie, living in Shetland.

Do you think we are related. :)
