Hello, I believe Patrick was a nephew of a Bishop of Galway, Dr Francis McCormack who was a native of Ballintubber, Co Mayo. I have found a brief history of the family which was written by a former priest of Ballintubber, Fr Heaney, This piece mentions Patrick's killing and gives a good overview of the family's background and genealogy.
