I believe that your Florence Edith Lutterlock/Barton lived with and eventually married my great grandfather Sam(uel) Harry Boon in 1944. Family legend has it that they moved to Littlehampton in Sussex in the 1920s (?) and had a pub there, and I'm guessing that they married when my great grandmother had passed away. Can you shed any light on this please - a genuine request and not meaning to upset anyone. Hello Angie I'm in contact with Mary draper she sent some pictures of Sam , I too have dug up some old pictures of Sam , Florence and my Nan and granddad from a beach setting taken after the war maybe ,  . Brian thanks for the extra research   I too have located them living at the hope public house . In bethnal green 1911 census . Angie nice to meet you on here . Mark

Thanks

Travelling People / Re: Having a nightmare - Howsego/Housego

the howzego, housego, howsego and related names were i think decended from the danish settlers called housecarls(housegos) the danish settlement placings sussex woods and norfolk suggest that a link is very likely .the house carls were said to be king alfreds elite foot soldiers they were strong and uncomprimising men  who were always ready for war and lived off the land ,ill try and research some more to try and prove a link but sound alike names often have a match further back and for very basic reasons ,the further back in research you may go , then no doubt other variations to the name will appear
