Hi again Mike,

Wyndham TREASURE descends from my Levi's brother Edward who married Ann PERKINS.  Wyndham was born in New Zealand and moved to Western Australia.

John TREASURE descends from my Levi's son Edward who married Anna Maria NORRISH. He was born in Western Australia.

So yes there is a relationship there.

kind regards, Veanne

Hi Mike,

There is a possible connection with you and the convict Edward to WA. His father was Levi TREASURE - Levi's father was James TREASURE. This James TREASURE bap. 23 Feb 1731 was possibly the brother to John TREASURE bap. 19 Jul 1730 Stoke Lane. This John TREASURE is your 5g-grandfather.
ie, John, James, Jeremiah Lewis, Aeneas, Charles Henry, Violet Doris, Mike.

I say possible connection only because the evidence for the baptism of James is from the IGI and not from the Stoke Lane Parish Registers. The Stoke Lane Parish Registers are in very poor condition and unreadable in some cases so it may very well be there, just not able to be seen at this point in time.

If you have specific questions (as I don't know how much you already know) just ask, I am always happy to help a fellow treasure hunter. Do you have the book "The Treasures" compiled by Anne Williams?

kind regards, Veanne

PS. I have been putting some information on a website called Family Treasure Circles where it can be accessed free by anyone. At this stage it relates only to Levi TREASURE and his children and I still have more information to add - I just have to find the time to do it!

Hi, I would be very interested in your information on Edward about the trials as they may contain information about his brothers and sisters. My OH descends from his younger brother James. I have quite a few copies of the other siblings trials as well as their father Levi and am more than happy to share them with you. Kind Regards, Veanne

Somerset / Willie or William EDWARDS born 1865 Taunton, Somerset, England, UK
« on: Tuesday 09 August 11 01:38 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I am searching for Willie EDWARDS who was born 1865 in Taunton, Somerset to James & Elizabeth (nee LONDON).

He married Mary Jane HIPPISLEY 12 Oct 1886 at the Register Office in Bristol. They had three children, Edith Mary 1887 North Wootton (raised by Mary's mother), Percy Frederick 1892 Cardiff (adopted and then known as Frederick Edward GUMM) & Ernest John 1894 Stoke Lane (adopted and then known as Ernest John TREASURE).

I am unable to find any census returns after 1881 for Willie or a date of death.

Mary Jane unofficially married William Henry TUCK around 1898 and they had four children together and lived in Bransgore, Christchurch, Hampshire, England.

I would be most grateful if anyone has found or has someone in their tree who might fit. Maybe he changed his name, unofficially remarried, moved overseas.

Fingers crossed,

Veanne Treasure

Hi Cando & Bill

Sharada has just found a burial at the Two Wells Cemetery that looks interesting.  Remember husband no. 2 John Stanley BAKER was buried there.

A Mary Ann ORAFFERTY was buried there 8 May 1902 aged 80 years, of Port Gawler.

On the site I subscribe to the relative listed is a Thomas ORAFFERTY.

Cando, I wonder if you would mind having a closer look for a description of what relation he was to this Mary Ann.

regards,

Vee

Hi Bill

To share the load I will order a copy of the death cert of Mary Ann BAKER and hopefully it will have some clue that it is or isn't her.

Thanks for going out to the cemetery,

Vee
