Durham / Joseph Strong born 24 February 1881 Hymn Book COMPLETED
« on: Wednesday 28 March 12 19:17 BST (UK)  »
I found a lovely hymn book in a charity shop in Durham today, which belonged to Joseph Strong and was given to him on the occasion of his 18th birthday on 24th February 1899. There is a nice handwritten message on the inside cover.  It would be nice to pass this on, if anyone is interested.

Down / Re: McKivitt, KcKivett, McKevitt Co Down - Help!

Thank you so much Answer for replying to my post.  The marriage  to Mary McCourt looks very promising. I was only estimating at 1829, were there any baptisms for William McK (any variation) at all around that time? I am so grateful for your reply.   :) :)

Down / McKivitt, KcKivett, McKevitt Co Down - Help!
« on: Saturday 17 December 11 09:01 GMT (UK)  »
I am searching for William McKiv(e)tt and family, could be McKiv(i)tt, or even McK(e)vitt) born in Ireland, possibly Warrenpoint, around 1829.   I have his son Patrick McKivett’s marriage cert to Mary Ann Mathews in 1889 in England.  From census details both were born in Ireland. This was a catholic marriage. Mary Ann's father was John Mathews.  Any help with this family in Co Down would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Technical Help / Re: The Times online - How to convert to plain text??

Many thanks for this Mr Wilson, I tried both links and the second site http://www.free-online-ocr.com/  worked well and I now have a Word doc, however, as you intimated, my doc needs a "little attention" but it does save a total re-type - a great help, thanks again.  :D
