Hi Strelitzia
I have just seen the message thread from 2020,  about your gg grandfather John Lloyd (1864). John is also the great grandfather of my husband.  I am having a similar problem in ascertaining his parentage. I am wondering if you have got any more answers than in 2020?  Would love to hear from you.

Hello Vicwinnam - thank you for your reply.  I am new to Rootschat - I'm not sure how to send a personal reply.  I've looked via the Help link, but that didn't seem to do the trick . . . can you please guide me??

Kind Regards
Naol

Hi again!
Re Vine:  There is a parish birth record for Adam to parents Jonathan and Vine.  Also found a marriage on the old IGI site for Jonathan to Vine Adams... also a birth for Vine Adams 16.5.1795 in Bucklebury to parents Adam Adams and Francis (nee Hall - I think).

As for the Hiram / Adam dilemma - I can find nothing (BMD or Census) for a Hiram Boseley / Bosley - which is why I ended up wondering, as the dociment is so faint, could the name have been mis-read by the transcribers as "Hiram" . . the last two letters do fit !!!! Wishful thinking perhaps?

Kind Regards again
Laon

Thank you for looking so quickly Crisane  :)

I'm still in a muddle though as I can't prove that "Hiram" is in fact "Adam".

The head of the household where Hiram was recorded was (I think) a John Bosley and wife(?) Mary.  They appear in the 1851 census.

I know that Adam's parents were Jonathan and Vine (nee Adams!) married 1812.  Three children - Sarah 1812 / Jonathan (jnr) 1814 and Adam 1817.

The Jonathan that you found married Maria (Kimber) in 1820 - it is possible that Vine died somewhere between Adam's birth (1817) and 1820, and Jonathan remarried. . .  still doesn't link Adam/Hiram to the correct father. . . . I am in a pickle!!!  Just hoping that someone else knows something that I don't!

Kind Regards

Berkshire / Boseley's of Bucklebury

Hello - I haven't used this site before so I hope this is the right process.

I am looking for information pertaining to Adam Boseley (c1817) and his father (Jonathan) - both of Bucklebury.
I am able to find Adam (quite clearly) in post 1841 census - however the 1841 census is very faint. . . I am unable to find "adam" - but there is someone transcribed as "Hiram" - which I think might be him.  He appears with a John Boseley who could well be his father. . .  however there appear to be two John/Jonathan Boseley's (1788 / 1791; one born to William and Mary the other to Henry and Fanny) . .  is there anyone who has been able to read / can read the 1841 census clearly????

Hoping that someone can help as I'm at a bit of a dead end.

Kind Regards
Naol    :)

Hi there!
I am new to this site; however I have been looking for information concerning my husband's ggg grandfather - Solomon Lindsay who started a paper mill in Cathcart in 1812.  I believe he and his wife Elizabeth (Lyon) are buried in the Cathcart cemetry. . . . Can anyone help with information about Solomon and his family???
Many Thanks
Jackie
