English Death certificates can be order on-line from the General Register Office (GRO) for England & Wales at:
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/
Certificates are 9.25 GBP (Pounds)
I have used this service, but don't know if there is any restriction on records as recent as 2008 ?  I suggest you create an account and start entering the search data, to see if it will allow you to submit the request.

Good luck

Hi Rescobie,
Andrew Farmer Harley listed previously born Nov 1908, also died in Dunfermline in 1908, an infant..  It seems a little weird to us nowadays, but it was not uncommon to re-use a name, if the first child died.
There is a birth record for Andrew Clark Harley born 1918 in Dunfermline, although the record image is not viewable from ScotlandsPeople.
Does the marriage record from 1940 for Andrew Clark Harley list William HArley and Janet FArmer as his parents - if so, then he is still part of this family group.

Hope this helps, Lindsay

Hi,
Joan contacted me through ancestry to let me know about this thread.  I suspect that it was my "Farmer Family " tree on ancestry that was referenced earlier in this thread.

Robert Farmer (married to Grace Campbell) was my 3 X great-grandfather.  I have a lot of supporting records for Robert, Grace and daughter Janet.   I didn't really track Janet's children as I was primarily interested in the Farmer line.

If you are interested I have at least 3 more generations of Robert Farmer's ancestors,  documented back to the 1750s.   If you send me your email address I can give you access.
Regards, Lindsay

Fife / Researching Edward Strang & Margaret Weir, Dunfermline c. 1780
« on: Tuesday 08 June 10 02:58 BST (UK)  »
I found some posts from a couple of years ago mentioning Edward Strang & Margaret Weir.  I am a descendant of their daughter Elizabeth Strang and her first husband George Shepherd.

I am making progress on tracking Elizabeth's children from both marriages.

I have also found Death records for some of Elizabeth's siblings:
Mary  d: 1860 Inverkeithing
Agnes d: 1857 Dunfermline
Janet d 1859 Dunfermline

Has anyone made any progress on Edward Strang & Margaret Weir - possibly linking to other Strangs?

Regards, Lindsay  (Los Angeles)
