I found the reference below and am wondering if St John's Vaults is an actual location or if it just refers to where Mary was buried (it is in the abode column just above Waterloo Road)?

Mary   Lambert d age 26 buried December 1853 St John the Evangelist, Waterloo
Residence   St John's Vaults, Waterloo Road
Residence county   Surrey

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Re: Lavenham marriage 1831 witnesses
« on: Wednesday 18 September 24 12:46 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for looking amondg! Yes, all of Anne's children (there were eight) with William King, a tailor, were illegitimate. I was hoping to find witnesses to Elizabeth and Smith's marriage to see if one of them (or both) might be family members. I know the marriage is too early to request a copy from the GRO and it seemed the only way to view a marriage record in the parish registers that included witnesses from Lavenham was to go visit a Suffolk Archives branch (or Records Office). I do have the CDs from Suffolk Family History which have been very helpful but the witnesses are not included. I just found this thread so maybe I just need to be patient until this project has been completed: https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=689451.0
I don't know why I didn't find this thread yesterday.

Thanks CaroleW! I reversed the two surnames although I have seen it the first way in a transcription of her birth. I am hoping there is a way to find the record of the marriage that includes the witnesses names.

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Lavenham marriage 1831 witnesses

I am trying to find the witnesses to the marriage of Smith Goold (born 1812) to Elizabeth King (born in 1813) 14 Aug 1831 Lavenham, Suffolk. Elizabeth can also be found as Elizabeth Wissett King.
Thanks very much!

Thank you very much for the Army Lists tip and the link to the National Archives guide. It looks like the NA have a large amount of helpful information!

Armed Forces / 29th Regiment of Foot-Bartholomew Blake

I wonder if finding a solider who was active from 1729-1762 in the 29th (Worcestershire) Regiment of Foot is too far back in the records to find. I would like to know more about Bartholomew Blake. He married Martha Bowler (whose father or brother was Walter Bowler of Kinsale/Cork, Ireland) but I do not know when that happened. I have found a few military references in books (Ensign 1727, Lieut 1739, Captain 1750, Lieut Col 1762) and the Irish Deeds and Chancery records but not his military record. Any help would be appreciated.

London and Middlesex / Re: Boyd's Marriage St Mary Le Strand

Good question. Groom's occupation (a longshot!) or was the marriage by license? Can I assume that St Mary Le Strand is the church where the marriage took place (I see it is also a parish)? I was hoping to take a look at the handwriting from the actual record even it was from The Bishop's Transcript record, to exam the groom's last name more closely bc I think it is possible James Rolfe (sometimes Rolph) that I was looking for in https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=871503.0. I should have put this in my original thread but forgot. Thanks for asking!
