Where did you get the year 1798 from. If it was from a Census the ages were sometimes done in multiples of 5 years ie 30.35.40.45 etc.

The nearest date to 1798 I have found for a Sarah is 22 June 1806 Sarah Grub d of Mary.
The previous date would have been 20 May 1764 Sarah Grubb d of Wm.
Not very helpfull I'm afraid.
There are 64 entries for the name of Grub/Grubb/Grube/Grubbe in the baptisms and 23 in the burials transcripts. Unfortunately I don't have the marriages.
Some of the entries give more information than others.

There are a couple of Joseph Thompson's with a connection to Wiltshire. Do you have any other family names that could narrow the search ie Wife Parents children or siblings.

PS Would you belive this John Mace (listed as Mease) married a Martha Avenell (b 1792)1816 in Wanborough they had a son James.
My Husband is an Avenell and his ancestors came from Wanborough. We have a relative in common.
I think the Mace family may have com from Liddington Wiltshire. It is only a few miles from Wanborough. I am checking further and will let you know. Are you able to access any of the UK Census if not I could look for you.

Elizabeth Mace bap. 12/1/1812 in Wanborough was the daughter of Solomon & Sarah.
Elizabeth was the first Mace to be baptised in Wanborough.
Sarah was burried 27/9/1836 aged 59.

Looking at the archives site it appears that Joseph was in the Invalid detachment and also had records of him in the Chelsea hospital.
ref WO 97/1206/46 are these the records you have sent for.

It sound to me like the George at the Scool in Chelsea could be the same one all the details fit and with the military connection as well.
Let me know what you find out from Joseph Army papers.

In 1861 a George Busby born Middlesex 1848 was in an Asylum School in Chelsea. This was a school for ex Army Soliders. A school rather than a hospital.
Could this be your George Busby do you think.
