The Common Room / What to do now??
« on: Tuesday 17 April 12 15:26 BST (UK)  »
Hello all,

I have been working on my family tree for around five years now and have made some very interesting discoveries. All the work I have done has been on ancestry website. At the moment it's really just a collection of names, dates place names, with a few exceptions. I'm really interested in padding out the tree with some more personal information. I've tried working backwards but I feel like I have slowed down a lot as I don't really know where else to go with it all now?
What have other people down with their trees??
Any ideas welcome

Thanks for the info teetotal. I will try and get my scanner working so I can post the image on here. I will have a look at the middleton street school, he went there from 1906-1909 so there may be a record fingers crossed ;)
Thanks again

Thank you for getting back to me.

I was hoping there would be something for the 1880-1910 period but it's seems a bit futile unfortunatly. I'm basically trying to piece together an ancestors short life. I have tried looking through some of the trade directories, census records, ordering certificates etc, but I think I have exhausted those avenues now. So i was hoping to find things via unconventional methods.

Thanks again for the information

Hi,

I have managed to get a record from the farningham home for little boys where my g grandfather stayed stating that he had attended school for three years 1907-1910 in hull I can't make out the name of the school but I thunk it might say  Hull Rc or Rd then it has Middletown in brackets underneath. Would anyone know of a school matching that description around those dates?

Cheers

Family History Beginners Board / Help to prove a birth
« on: Monday 17 October 11 15:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,

I am looking for birth record for my nan's brother, she believes that his name was Norman Cox and that he was born in the 1920s and died young of diphtheria. His parents were hezekiah cox and Sarah ethel cox (née Bateman) we can't seem to find any proof of him.
Any one able to fond him
Cheers

Family History Beginners Board / Hull burial
« on: Monday 17 October 11 14:06 BST (UK)  »
Hello all,

I'm looking for a burial in Hull in 1911, my ancestor died in the HUll asylum on 15th February, would people who had lived in the asylum be buried in a normal church or would there be anywhere else?

Thanks
