Delambo, your tree is great, very impressive site....I hope that at some point there is a cross over with our Bowbricks and yours.

Thanks, and I can make it much better with all of your help.  If anyone has anything to contribute please send it over, any photos, scans etc in connection with the Bowbrick name I will pop it on the site.

Also any GEDcom files I can merge with my tree and we can try to find common ancestors that way.  If you have a tree uploaded to Genes Reunited it is easy to download a gedcom from there.  Simply hover over "Family tree" on any page, then click "Gedcoms".  Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see a link "Export Gedcom".  Click this link and your gedcom will be sent to you by email.  Forward the gedcom to my email and I will merge our trees and include your ancestors on my site.

Also if any of you would like to be added to my site as a contact let me have any details you are willing to share (email only is probably best) as I will be adding a contacts page to the site for anybody researching the Bowbrick line so that they can get in touch to discuss their trees.

I have just started an online collection of information and documents relating to the Bowbrick name at http://www.sapsuk.com/bowbrick/records.html

If anyone has any scans, photos, information, cuttings, snippets, birth certificates or anything else of any interest to anybody researching the Bowbrick name then please let me have a copy of it and I will pop it on the site.

Thanks.

Hi,

I can tell you for almost certain that you are all barking up the wrong tree as far as Thomas Bowbrick and Sarah Charman are concerned - there must be another Thomas and Sarah along the way somewhere, or the records are incorrect.

I can see where you are all coming from though because of this record.

and this record of Thomas Bowbrick marrying Sarah Charman in Cranley, Surrey.

However I think due to the Surrey accent many scriveners had difficulty spelling Bowbrick and came up with kinds of spellings like Bubrick, Bubberick etc...

Thomas Bowbrick and Sarah Charman did in fact have have a Henry Bowbrick(Buberick) but not a Henry John Bowbrick - born in Cranley in 1804 as per this record

They also had 6 other children, William (1801), Thomas (1807), Hannah (1810), Sarah (1812), George (1815) and Harriett (1818) all born in Cranley, Surrey as per my tree here.  I very much doubt that they would have had another Henry in 1815 but please do put me right if you have other evidence.

I do hope you are correct as I can find no evidence of my Henry Bowbrick Marrying or having children so my tree stops there on this line.

I live in Cranleigh (Cranley) and know the area well, I also frequently visit the Woking Family history centre - where all the Surrey records are kept - so if anyone needs anything checked out I am more than happy to do so.

Hi all,

I too am researching the Bowbrick family tree and am glad I found this thread in a Google search.  I am looking to try to connect the Surrey Bowbricks with the South East London and Portsmouth Bowbricks.  I have not found a provable link as yet.

You can view my family tree at http://www.sapsuk.com/bowbrick/ and yes the coat of arms on the front page is as far as I can tell a coat of arms that the Bowbrick family have a right to bear.

I have lots of other information on Bowbricks from around the globe that is not on my tree so if I can be of any help to anyone please ask.  Likewise if anyone has any info to furnish me with please feel free to do so.

I have also set up a group on facebook to help with my name studies at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/group.php?gid=5885970805&ref=ts should anyone wish to join and contribute.

Thanks.
