Family History Beginners Board / Missing relative due to seperation? Staffs

Would appreciate any help or insight into marriage /separations in 1800s.

After their marriage in dec 1853 and the birth of two sons in 1855 and 1858, my ggf disappears from censuses. I thought at first he must have died but hours of searching and numerous u/s death certs, cant find him.

Born William mulliner in 1833/4 to William and mary in woore
Marr. As William mullington to elizabeth Huxley  dec 6 1853.

1861 census (bad transcription) finds eliz with their 2 sons joseph and Edward living with her father and lodger in betley crewe, listed as still married.
No sign of William.

1871census she appears to have married lodger john bailey and had 4 more offspring.

1881census finds john bailey dead and the family all reverted to calling themselves Huxley

1891census finds her with her grandaughter calling themselves bailey again.

1899 her demise registered as eliz. Huxley by my ggf her son joseph mulliner who lists her as widow of john Huxley ag lab.

Im fast losing heart on this , if anyone can help me shed some light on the erratic name changes or anywhere else I can look for my missing relative I would greatly appreciate an overview.

Hello June,

I noticed in your correspondance with the late Peter Bennett dated 2004 you were researching the Mulliner family of Wybunbury and Bridgemere. I myself am researching the son William of the same family and would appreciate any help you may be able to offer. Roy Mulliner
