Thanks for the reply, yes, your right, her address was Gormanstown.

I presumed it was Gormanstown near Kilcullen (Love across the main road, so to speak!!) as Michael Dillon was from Ballybarney (just outside Calverstown)

Family rumour states that she was from an upper class Catholic family and she married beneath herself, so her family disowned her after she married  :-[  In saying that, I've managed to disprove all the other families rumours, so there's nothing to say there is any truth to this one either!!

Hi,

There was no sign of a Thomas Doran in that?  My g-grandmother was Winifred Doran (she married Michael Dillon), her parents were Thomas and Catherine Doran, from Gormanstown? (Wicklow) (so it says on the marriage cert in 1881)

Regards,
Maureen.

Not really relating to this thread, BUT, my ancestors came from Ballybarney (Dillon's). I was told they were all buried in Davidstown cemetry. I attempted to get into the graveyard, but it seems to have been abandoned long ago and it didn't seem too safe to walk around!!

Does anyone know if any of the inscriptions have been taken down and documented somewhere?  ???

Regards,
Maureen.

Hi,

I have an Elizabeth Keogh in my family tree. My g-g-grandmother was Elizabeth Keogh. She married a Patrick Dillon in @1850-1852, so safe to assume she would have been born @20 years previous to that. (I haven't come across the birth or death record yet)

They lived in Ballybarney, near Calverstown, which is no more than 5 miles from Kilcullen.  I know when I was looking up the records there were a lot of O'Neill's as witnesses, etc., on my family tree records.  I couold dig them out and have a look??

Not sure if any of this helps or not.

Maureen.
