Ambryne - PS on James/Elizabeth Monks/Moncks/etc -- they emigrated to London, England on or before 1861 since they show up in the England census that year. I do know James was a tailor as well.
Ambyrne - I saw your post below from a while back and was wondering if you might also have any information/records on a James Moncks/Monk/Monks/Monck from Dublin (born ~1797-1801), who married an Elizabeth (born ~1810). They had at least one child, Mary E. Moncks/Monk/Monks/Monck (born ~1824 in Dublin). That's as far back as I can go on that family name. Thank you in advance if you can help!!I have checked the voting registers of Dublin in the 1830's.
Richard Monks is listed as living in Old Kilmanham and as a Farmer.
There are a couple of other Monks also on the list.
Thomas
Denis
Joseph
Laurence
Patrick
William.
If you want any further info please give me a shout
In the 1851 census of Dublin there are also a few Richard Monks
Rich. Monk 34 Vicar St. St. Catherine's South
Rich. Monk 12 Engine Alley St. Catherine's South
Rich. Monks 15 Ship St. Great St. Bridget's South
