Oxfordshire Lookup Requests / Beenham Toot or Marsh Baldon
« on: Saturday 04 December 10 19:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
I'm looking for any parish record entries for the name Beenham (or variations) in the villages of Toot or Marsh Baldon. My ancestor Jacob Beenham appears to have been born in Marsh Baldon c 1716 or 17 and I think his father Thomas c 1680 and his grandfather Walter in Toot Baldon c 1640

Any help would be much appreciated
Margaret

Henry Bowyer my 1st cousin 2x removed was the father of Stanley Leonard Bowyer. Do you know if the Michael Bowyer mentioned in your note was Henry MB Bowyer b 1940 the son of Stanley?
Further to the earlier post Henry Bowyer was Bailiff to Ashridge Farm on the 1901 census.

Just have to find the link one more generation back.

Dorset / Re: THE JAMES FAMILY
« on: Monday 28 March 05 22:53 BST (UK)  »
Do you have anything in your records on the James family in Lyme Regis. I am interesed in Mary Jane James b June q 1840. On the 1851 census with family (William & Mary Ann) still in Lyme.
She may have married a Thomas Va(e)rcoe in Dorset Devon or Cornwall c 1863. First child b 1864 Torquay Devon.
I have her married on the 1871 and subsequent census's but don't have access to 1861 or marriage records. Not on Free BMD - may have been a non conformist marriage.
ps I am speculating this is the name as she is the only Mary Jane in the right place for birth and 1851 census - I'm trying to confirm that I have the correct person.
