I'm trying to find the families of Harry Parr (b. 1820) and his father John Parr (b. about 1800, m. Elizabeth Miller).  Can anyone find them in the 1851/1861 Census?  Thanks so much.

Hi Margaret!

I was very interested to see your website as my great grandmother was a Scotney.  Sarah Jane Scotney (#70) married Reuben Parr, their son Reuben Scotney Parr was my father's dad.  I tried earlier to contact the owner of the site to find out if there was any information about the Parr family history, but no response.  I've since discovered a 'long-lost' cousin who is a grandson of Ernest Parr and has also researched the family tree. Unfortunately I can't answer your question, but I wonder if you'd like to exchange information.

Cheers,

Mark Parr

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Re: Alfred Parr's Family Composition

Hi Teddybear!

Thanks, but now I'm more confused!  How does "Alice Li. S." become "Alice M.L.", unless you mean that the 'Li' was misinterpreted and should have been an 'M'?  And the 'S' is really an 'L'?

I'd like to confirm the other family members' names, dob, etc.  Should be an Ernest and a Walter (sons) and wife Eliza.  I have another Ernest b. 1875 from the same generation but born to Ernest's brother David Parr b. 1852.  His place of birth is Stowkt and I'm not sure if that's an abbreviation for Stowmarket, the same place of birth as the other Ernest!  I want to be sure it's two different Ernests and not the same one!  Hopefully if they're present on each census from 1881, 1891 and 1901, then I can be sure it's two different people.

If you could give me a household list for Alfred Parr in each year, that would be great.

Cheers,

Mark Parr

Norfolk Lookup Requests / Alfred Parr's Family Composition
« on: Monday 21 February 05 22:10 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for the family composition of Alfred Parr living in Kenninghall, Norfolk in 1881, 1891 and 1901.  His year of birth is 1848 in Exning, Suffolk.

I'm particularly interested in getting the correct name of his daughter, it looks like "Alice Li. S. Parr" which is very bizarre!

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Tricia!  Great to have somewhere to look for more info.  I recently came across a first cousin who was able to fill in some blanks in the family tree, but as usual it raises more questions than answers!  You've been a great help.  Thanks so much.

Thanks Tricia, you're amazing!  That's a few more children than I previously knew! Wow!

But the two older daughters are missing:  Lillian (or Lilian) M (May) b. 1879 and Lora M b. 1881 Wilderspin.  Do they appear anywhere?  They probably married if they're not living at home.

I'm looking for the family composition of George Wilderspin b 1854 in Holywell living in Burwell in 1901.  I assume it's Burwell Cambridgeshire, but in the 1881 Census it was Burwell, Exning, Suffolk.  Any ideas?

His wife was Harriet Parr, sister of my great grandfather.  Her father Daniel may have been living with them.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My ggrandfather Reuben Parr was born in "Six Mile Bottom" Cambs in 1861.  Where is Six Mile Bottoms and where do I find the records for his birth, parents, etc?  Thanks so much.
